Lies of P could be a breakout action-RPG for 2023. This new soulslike from developer Neowiz has a bit of a strange premise, so stick with us here: You play as Pinocchio, who is fighting to both find his creator, Mr. Geppetto, and to become human – with a unique lying mechanic which can have grave implications on the world state and story. If you're a fan of Bloodborne or Dark Souls and you're looking for something new to play, be sure to keep a close eye on Lies of P in 2023. UFO Robot Grendizer: The Feast of the Wolves The sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn arrived on PS5 and PS4 in early 2022, expanding on the original action-adventure game with an even bigger world and story. As with any sequel, you should play the first game first to fully understand the stakes. However, this newer game provides a thorough recap of the first entry in case you just want to start with the sequel. No one can blame you since Forbidden West provides more quality-of-life gameplay tweaks, as well as more graphical eye candy with its realistic characters and environments. Instead of watching him tap away at a tablet during a cut-scene, Insomniac makes you arrange and rotate shapes in two puzzle mini-games: one that resembles the ‘80s classic Pipe Dreams, and one that has you add and subtract tiny lines to match a line pattern. At best, these puzzles are ho-hum and tolerable. At worst, they are an obnoxious mix of simple, repetitive, and clumsy to control.
